Lying low again - this time for a white-browed wagtail (Motacilla maderaspatensis)

Last time I had posted the picture of White Wagtail and this time its a white browed wagtail. No points for guessing why this bird is so called 🙂 Unlike the white wagtail, these birds never have any white on the forehead.

These are the longest wagtail and are also called the large pied wagtails. They are resident breeders in India and have an insectivorous diet. Like all wagtails they also exhibit the characteristics wagging motion of its tail. Their scientific name has been derived from the name of the city of Madras ( now called Chennai) in India.
