 Indian Robin (Saxicoloides fulicatus) - Male

This is very common bird of the Indian sub-continent and is found in open scrub areas. It displays di-morphic plumage though mainly black with a white shoulder patch. The northern populations have brownish upper plumage while the southern populations are black above. They have a chestnut coloured vent that also helps distinguish it from the Pied Bushchat.
This one is a male. The females are brownish above
